The services offered to the international patients for the surgery of Enlarged Prostate glands in India involves the Pr-Treatment Stage, Treatment Stage and Post Treatment follow up along with necessary support for safe and quick recovery of the patient. Enlarged Prostate cancerous gland grows and spreads through 3 routes. The first way is the Local growth. As the tumor grows, it becomes large enough to compress urethra making it difficult to urinate. Local tumor can grow upward invading the bladder and some investicals or it can grow towards back invading the rectum. The prostate tumor may also break out either side of the prostate through the capsule that surrounds it and spread into the normal tissue nearby. The second way the cancer can spread is by sending ulcers to the lymphatic systems. The lymphatic systems consist of tinny vessels smaller than blood vessels that run through tinny little organs called as lymph nodes. These lymph nodes act as filtering devices that helps our body fight infections. When a person has cancer, the cells can enter the lymph nodes and spread via the limp system to other parts of the body. The third and most dangerous way the cancer can spread is by sending out cancerous cell in the blood supplies. These cells can go anywhere the blood supply goes. They prefer to go first to the bones and thats why bone scan is done to see if there are any cancer cells showing up there. In the later stage of the disease the prostate cancer cell can spread to any part of the body lungs, liver, skin and brain. Dog in pain. Relief at home?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Enlarged Prostate Treatment

My 12 year old dog has been back & forth to the vet over the past 2 weeks as he has been showing signs of increasing discomfort when walking, sitting, wagging etc. By yesterday he had worsened and was urinating very slowly. He also doesn’t seem to urinate much at a time. We took him back to the vet immediately and she believes it may be bladder stones (he had an enlarged prostate with beeding last year, but this now appears normal size). He had blood in his urine sample yesteday. She has booked him in for blood tests and an X ray on Thursday, but I’m at a loss as to what to do for him until then.

He’s extremely uncomfortable, especially getting up/lying down. He’s stumbling when he walks, particularly before urinating. He’s still eating well and drinking plenty.

It’s breaking my heart to watch him suffer like this, and I wish they vet had kept him in to catheterise him yesterday to relieve the pressure & discomfort.

What can I do for him while I wait for treatment.
He was on a combined painkiller/anti-infammatory from another vet at the practice when he thought it might be muscular/skeletal, but he’s been taken off this now we have found a urinary problem, as it can cause kidney damage. I asked about other painkillers and was told there was nothing else. I don’t want to give him human medication, but find a natural way of offering some relief/assistance to him.
The blood test is to check his kidneys. I’ve rung the vet and have brought forward the blood test until tomorrow. Hopefully they will keep him in and catheterise him. They will still do the x-ray in Thursday, as they are using it in surgery tomorrow. Can I do anything to relieve his pain or assist him in emptying his bladder more?
Of course I fear the worst, if he cannot be treated effectively, but it’s a little early to be contemplating euthenasia before we have a diagnosis and treatment options. He was a happy, healthy dog less than 2 weeks ago, and if it is bladder stones, he can be treated with diet or surgery and be returned to good health. I would hope not to have to operate, but I will do so if this will resolve the problem and regain his health. Euthenasia is the final option when the dog cannot be treated and his suffering cannot be relieved.

I assume the vet checked him for any kidney problem? There also might be a possibility of a tumour somewhere in his abdominal cavity (perhaps near his spine as he’s having difficulty moving).
Sorry I can’t be much help. I don’t pretend to know more than a vet.
All you can do for him is be there for him, show him how much you care for him, and make him as comfortable as possible. And if the worst comes, do what’s best for him, and don’t let him suffer more than he has to. It can be hard to let go, but kinder than to see your beloved suffer.
However, I hope for bladder stones-for your sake, and his, too

What are my liver cysts from?. Prognosis?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Enlarged Prostate Treatment

I am a 52 year old male recently diagnosed with Bacterimia /Septicemia. After 8 days in the hospital I was released and I am still taking Cipro and Flagel. During my stay in the hospital I received a triple thoracic CT scan a Gallium scan. It was determined that I have over 100 small cysts spread through out my liver and a small polyp in my bile duct. They also mentioned an abcsess in the Liver lateral to the gallbladder and "uptake" into both lungs. There was no mention or concern of cysts in the Kidneys or any where else. The diagnosis at that time was that the cysts resulted from the infection. After a months treatment of antibiotics I had a MRI of the Liver. The Liver MRI shows no sign of change in the number of cysts or size. My doctors now believe that the cysts were not caused by my infection and another pathology may be present.

I am going to see my doctor for more consultations and lots more tests but it will be almost two weeks before I get the results from the next round of tests. I know that they want to look at my entire gastrointestinal tract. Recent colonoscopy and endoscopy showed no problems I have a slightly enlarged prostate and three cases of prostatitus in the last 7 years.

What I would like to know is what tests may be indicated and what possible diagnoses and treatments I may expect. I know I can’t be diagnosed on line but want to prepare myself for whatever is coming.

Please help.
Thanks for your time..
Blood tests for my liver are normal. Parasitic infections have been ruled out.
Thank you for your answer. Shortly after I got your answer I received an MRI report that has the same diagnosis on it. If you are willing I would love to communicate with you to get a better idea of what I could expect and what resources are available. May God bless you and the person under your care.

You have a polycystic liver. Poly means many.
Cysts can be fluid filled or complex. Fluid
filled doesn’t usually cause a problem…the
complex ones can mean they have particules
in them or even, rarely, cancer.

It is good that they are not increasing in size.
If they do start to increase, they could cause
damage to the surrounding cells in the liver.
If this takes place, it would be best to
discuss with the doctor about being
evaluated for placement on the transplant
list.
The abscess in the liver can be drained by
placing a tubing that comes from the abscess
to the outside skin and then to a bag, on the
outside of the body, to collect the contents.

It would be very important to notify the
doctor immediately if you develop even
a mind fever.

If the cells become damaged in the liver,
the immune system will respond to this
and cause inflammation to develop inside
the liver, also. This usually causes the
liver to enlarge in size. An ultrasound or
Ct scan would show this enlargement.

I do know that people can inherit polycystic
kidney disease, but I’m not sure about
the liver having this. You may want to
talk to others in your family about whether
they had liver problems of any sort.

They sometimes do a liver biopsy in
people who have cell damage…but I’m
not sure they would do it to someone that
has cysts there or not…I think more likely
not.

Wish I could be of more help…this is
about all I can give you on this.
Best wishes
